Starspeed Selects REDiFly eTechlog to Digitise Helicopter Operations

REDiFly x Starspeed Logos

Starspeed has selected the REDiFly eTechlog as its electronic technical log solution, following the signing of an agreement to digitise tech log processes within its helicopter fleet. REDiFly’s cloud-native eTechlog will replace paper-based records with a real-time digital system, giving Starspeed’s flight crew and maintenance teams immediate visibility of aircraft status, defects, and servicing data.

Based at Fairoaks Airport in Surrey and part of the Luxaviation Group, Starspeed is one of the UK’s most established helicopter management companies, with over four decades of experience operating and managing helicopters across more than 65 countries.

The selection marks a further expansion of the REDiFly eTechlog into rotary operations, where the platform’s configurable workflows and offline-first architecture are well suited to the varied mission profiles and multi-type fleet environments typical of such operations.

Configured Around the Way Starspeed Operates

A key factor in selection was the platform’s ability to configure workflows to match Starspeed’s existing operational processes, avoiding the need to adapt the operation around the system.

Pilots and engineers will capture and sign technical entries directly on the REDiFly native iOS app. Configuration and implementation are now underway, with joint workshops and structured onboarding sessions forming the foundation of the rollout.

“Moving to the REDiFly eTechlog is a significant step forward for our operation. Going paperless means our pilots and engineers are always working from the same information, with no delays, no manual handovers and no unnecessary admin getting in the way. For our remote operations particularly the combination of offline capability and fast information flow will be extremely valuable”
— Jonathan Edwards, Flight Operations, Starspeed

“Starspeed is a great addition to our growing customer base. Having an operator of their calibre and experience bringing the eTechlog into rotary operations is something we’re really proud of, and we’re looking forward to supporting them through implementation.”
— Patrick Clancy, CEO, REDiFly
